JUNE 19, 2008 — Aquent, the leading global staffing firm specialising in marketing, communications and creative talent, has established an office in Taipei, Taiwan, bringing the total number of Aquent offices to 71 across 18 countries.

“The opening of Aquent’s 71st office in Taiwan is directly in line with Aquent’s strategy to become the largest recruiter globally to provide the full range of specialist staffing services within the marketing, communications and creative sectors,” announced Greg Savage, International CEO for Aquent. “It is the latest addition to Aquent’s Greater China Region, which since 2002 we have grown to four offices across Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong.”

“Taiwan is a very important location for us,” says Duncan Cunningham, Regional Director for Greater China. “As one of the major markets in the region it was important we cemented our presence there to support our existing international and regional clients in Taiwan and to provide opportunities for Taiwanese talent and companies alike. Our unique positioning as a highly specialised network is proving to be a compelling offering, especially in a city where we are the only staffing firm supporting the marketing, communications and creative sectors.

Our business is accelerating as a direct result of the continued demand for skilled marketing and communications professionals across this region. The People’s Republic of China is heavily supported by talent from Taiwan, which presents added pressure to the domestic Taiwanese talent market. Our new office in Taipei will provide our local, regional and global clients and talent with a greater variety of opportunities and access to some of the most skilled talent in the Asia Pacific region.”

Momoko Kang has been appointed as the Area Manager for Taiwan and recently transferred from Aquent’s Shanghai office. Prior to joining Aquent, Momoko worked in Taipei across a range of industries including staffing, private equity and logistics. She received her B.A. in art history from New York University and is fluent in Japanese, English and Mandarin. “I am very excited about building this key Greater China location. Our clear focus is to ensure that we deliver the best available talent to our clients and the best opportunities for our talent in Taiwan,” said Momoko Kang, Aquent Taipei Area Manager.
