Last Tuesday morning we attended Studio Output's Digital Innovation and Insights event entitled 'Bright Ideas for Inspiring Brands'. An addition to their industry-leading social event 'Glug', these seminars are smaller and more targeted affairs aimed primarily at 'decision-makers' and senior-level delegates. Speakers from Twitter, StoryThings, and Studio Output covered the latest trends in digital marketing, broadcast and content strategies – and how brands can communicate effectively across multiple platforms.
Held at the Aubin Cinema in Shoreditch, the event was refreshingly intimate, meaning it was a great opportunity to learn, discuss, and network. By keeping the run-time of proceedings down to two hours it meant that people were fully engaged throughout and able to devour bite-sized nuggets of information to be taken back to the studio, office, or boardroom. The main pull of the event was a large dose of lateral thinking across all relevant platforms with working examples of products, trends, and strategies.
The speakers encouraged attendees to question what they already knew, to evaluate how they currently align their brands, and to explore the concept of 'stealing' from other brands when brainstorming. It was great to compare the parallels of thought and approach between corporates, agencies, and independents and note how they often share the same common goals and hurdles along the way.
Content spanned the latest innovations in digital, cultivating your next big idea, exploiting and leveraging everyday moments, and the rise of 'permitted bootlegging' against 'skunk work'. All in all it was a thought-provoking, informative event that we would definitely encourage invitees to consider attending.
