Did you know IAB research shows social media provides a 3:1 return on investment?

This summer, the Internet Advertising Bureau UK (IAB) made an amazing discovery in Marketing Magazine. According to their study into FMCG brands, including Heinz, Kettle and Twinings, they found that: 'For every £1 spent in social media, a potential value of £3.34 can be generated.'

IAB’s director of marketing and communications and chair of the Social Media Council, Kristin Brewe, said: "Social media is the only channel where it’s possible for brands and consumers to have meaningful two-way conversations, making the strength of connections that much stronger."

Their research found 4 out of 5 consumers would be more inclined to buy a brand more often in the future after being exposed to its social media presence. While 83% of consumers exposed to social media said they would trial a brand’s product. If you're like us, the news about the power of social media won't be a surprise, but the stats are pretty astonishing nonetheless.
