Job Description:

My client is looking for an ambitious and entrepreneurial consultant to define and implement solutions to facilitate their clients’ financial operation digital transformations, working predominantly from their central London office.

Salary circa £50,000 per annum

You’ll be responsible for supporting workstreams on projects, defining and implementing finance operating models underpinned by cloud ERP solutions. Although working knowledge of how cloud ERP solutions can improve businesses finance function efficiencies’, this isn’t a technical role so you are not expected to be an ERP function expert.

Your key responsibilities;

Supporting the consultancy partners & directors in preparing proposals to win ERP-enabled finance transformation projects, contributing finance function improvement domain knowledge to such proposals

Supporting workstreams on ERP projects – and, sometimes, standalone finance function improvement projects – to review, define and transition to finance target operating models (F-TOMs)

Working with cloud ERP functional consultants within the consultancy practice to overlay the cloud ERP finance workflows onto the F-TOM to take advantage of the ‘out of the box’ standardisation benefits of cloud ERP

Supporting process-specific solution design workstreams on ERP projects such as order-to-cash or purchase-to-pay

Undertaking finance process analysis on system selection projects and finance function improvement projects

Supporting the business change work associated with migration from old to new finance operating models, including role changes, shared service migrations, process improvements and controls definition

Building personal networks across the firm in order to raise awareness of the consultancy services

Essential skills & qualifications;

Bachelors degree
A recognised accounting qualification OR a finance-related degree
Exposure to application of technology to drive finance transformation and business chance
A strong working knowledge of either the following core finance processes: order-to-cash, purchase-to- pay – gained either through extensive consultancy experience in these areas, or through having worked in these roles in a finance function
4-5 years of relevant experience in consulting to include a combination of the following:
Finance function design, including F-TOM design
Robust understanding of core finance and business processes e.g. P2P, S2C, R2R
Business change management
Knowledge of ERP implementation good practice and the opportunities these offer for finance function transformation
A good level of personal impact and credibility including evidence of developing client relationships and of being involved in workshops with client personnel
Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with well-developed interpersonal skills and an ability to relate to a variety of clients and colleagues
Strong personal organisation and time management skills
A passion for delivering real business value through IT enabled finance transformation / ERP projects

Excellent team leadership skills including experience of managing junior staff development

Preferential skills;

Prince 2, PMP, MSP or a similar project management/programme management qualification

Practical experience of working in a finance function role, ideally obtained in industry

Experience of working with the finance modules of one of more leading ERP solution such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics - either as an end user or on an implementation project

Some exposure to public sector IT- enabled transformation in either social housing, local government, FE/HE or health
