Job Description:

My client, an established tech start-up in the property space is looking for Business Development Manager.

 

You’ll have some understanding of the different roles played by frontline officers, senior leaders, elected members and the public. You’ll have an appreciation of the financial and political environment in which they operate.

 

You may have SaaS experience, be familiar with building a pipeline of prospects and customers, and have a track record of building revenue with existing customers, and of developing and closing new deals. You may equally have a non-commercial background, but understand how relationship building, problem-solving and inclusive conversations have a major impact on achieving positive change in the built environment and beyond.

 

We’ll expect you to demonstrate the following skills, knowledge and behaviours:

 

Skills:

· You will be developing relationships and driving the uptake of the product as the market leader in meaningful engagement in the built environment.

· Account managing existing relationships, and development and finding and delivering on new opportunities.

· You will be spotting opportunities for new business, understanding what our customers need, identifying how we can help and agreeing with them on how we will deliver our services for them.

 

Knowledge:

· SaaS experience or knowledge and understanding of the built environment, and especially the role of local government as its custodian.

· Experience in using a Customer Relationship Management system.

· A working knowledge of how professional networking tools e.g. LinkedIn, social media and marketing campaigns can create new business opportunities.

· A can-do, self-starter attitude, who is able to work as part of a high-performing team in achieving goals that are central to the company’s success.

· Comfortable with the ambiguity and change inherent in the start-up and small company environment.

· Demonstrable ability to get up to speed quickly on new products, services, markets and relationships.

 

Compensation and benefits:

· Competitive base salary with generous OTE package

· Uncapped annual leave

· 20 days fully paid company sick leave

· Flexible working arrangements. It is envisaged that the candidate will be working from home, with occasional travel to London for major company events.
