Junior Market Research Analyst (3-5 years)

Position Description

Our leading financial services organization in New York City is looking for Junior Marketing Research Analyst to join a growing internal Market Intelligence team. The Market Research Analyst is principally responsible for developing key components of projects and/or completely managing less complex studies or tracking studies to facilitate progress. To build skills, the Analyst will “float” serving a number of research teams, business & functions and project types. A key goal is to develop sophistication about our company and develop research skills.


  • Help to set up & manage samples, recruit participants for focus groups, manage focus group rooms and client needs

  • Manage ongoing tracking studies and help to develop new studies with supervision.

  • Expert at developing electronic surveys, cross-tab & data runs, setting up PowerPoint tables & charts

  • Support senior staff as needed, responding to analysis-related questions

  • Communicate with vendors at direction of senior staff

  • You will document best practices and processes

  • Requirements

  • 3-5 years experience in the custom Market Research industry

  • Value vendor side or industry experience

  • Supplier side experience is helpful but not mandatory

  • Strong sampling experience is a must

  • Experience designing and drafting surveys

  • Strong analytic and critical thinking skills

  • Expertise with Excel, PowerPoint, survey software and SPSS/SAS

  • Experience with Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey, etc. is critical

  • Competencies Required

  • Highly detailed focus. Good at multi-tasking

  • Strong organizational and analytical instincts & skills

  • Comfortable with numbers & numerical relationships

  • Aptitude and willingness to learn new skills and information
