“By bringing 3D content collaboration and approval into a project management tool, Aquent RoboHead allows companies to accelerate their development and use of this new media.”

Aquent, a global work solutions company, announced today that its Aquent RoboHead brand, the leading project management solution for in-house marketing and creative, will release a new patent-pending tool for all RoboHead clients. This tool allows users to view, comment, annotate, and approve or reject changes directly on 3D files across a wide variety of formats, from a web browser or mobile device—without any specialized training or software.
“Right now, 3D design & development is often happening outside the standard systems and workflows of the creative organization,” said Daniel Perez, President of RoboHead. “By bringing 3D content collaboration and approval into a project management tool, Aquent RoboHead allows companies to accelerate their development and use of this new media.”
Currently, the workflow for teams collaborating around 3D files is often not straightforward. Some browsers support 3D file viewing, while file annotation and editing often require importing the file into a separate software system. This requires users to install different plug-ins, extensions, and licenses, adding steps to the project management process.
In contrast, Aquent RoboHead's technology consolidates all of these capabilities into the rest of a team's workflow. This patent-pending technology enables users to annotate files, suggest changes, approve and reject edits, and more from any browser on any device in an intuitive manner. Aquent RoboHead's project management technology is also able to support a wide variety of 3D file formats, including .obj, .fbx, .dae, .glb, .gltf, and .zae. This tool is embedded in Aquent RoboHead's existing project management platform, distinguishing it from other project management solutions in the marketplace which do not support the annotation of 3D files.
“As our world embraces technology like the Metaverse and artificial intelligence, this first-of-its-kind tool takes the conversation outside of the developers' room and makes 3D file technology easy and accessible for everyone,” said Giovanni Castillo, Senior Metaverse Designer at Aquent. “Internally, this platform has transformed our design team by helping us seamlessly collaborate across departments. It will surely do the same for our clients.”
This technology is now available to all Aquent RoboHead clients. To learn more about the platform and its capabilities, visit Aquent RoboHead.
