Project Overview:
As the Trends Data Research Manager (Temp), you’ll have the opportunity to inspire deeper understanding and participation in one of the richest ecosystems for self-expression in the world. You’ll join Culture & Trends (CaTs), a global team that combines data science and cultural research to tell the stories of the next generation of creators and artists, helping viewers, creators and advertisers better understand today’s pop culture and the people driving it.
As Trends Data Research Manager (Temp) you will work closely with the CaTs’ data and research team to provide authoritative data analysis that serves as the foundation for all of our insights and storytelling efforts. This includes managing data and claims requests from our global team and supporting the data needs for our ambitious Trends Report program. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify new opportunities and help the CaTs team scale its data investigations. And you’ll maintain standards for valid research practices, with an aim toward statistical quality control and defendable results.
Overall Responsibilities:
The role blends data analysis, research support, and operational management to ensure the smooth functioning of the team’s data efforts. Key responsibilities include querying, analyzing, and interpreting data around trending content, managing data requirements for projects, and acting as a point of contact for data-related inquiries. Additionally, the role involves collaborating across teams to develop global approaches and best practices for data investigations.
Top 3 Daily Responsibilities:
- Leverage SQL to query and extract data from a data warehouse to fulfill incoming requests, with a strong commitment to data accuracy and quality assurance
- Create data strategies for deeper analysis of trending videos channels, topics and themes for upcoming reports or narratives
- Manage pipeline of incoming data and research needs from end to end, including process to QA and approve data for external use cases
Skill/Experience/Education
Mandatory
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of professional experience writing complex and efficient SQL queries to extract, transform, and aggregate data from large datasets
- Experience using data visualization tools for consumer or industry audiences.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple processes simultaneously.

- Ability to effectively operate in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to write and execute basic Python or R scripts for data manipulation, cleaning, and basic analysis
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $52.53 to $58.37 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
