As a Technical Artist IV within their innovative design studio, you’ll be at the forefront of developing cutting-edge creative tools used by a vast audience. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of digital expression.

Imagine crafting the tools that empower users to express themselves in entirely new ways. As a Technical Artist IV, you’ll collaborate with talented designers and engineers to bring these creative visions to life. You will be instrumental in building the next generation of creative tools, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with emerging technologies and generative AI.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with engineers and designers to develop creative tools, translating design concepts into functional code.
  • Create, prototype, optimize, and profile custom shaders, demonstrating expertise in shader languages.
  • Design and manage technical production pipelines, including the development of essential tools and functional prototypes.
  • Effectively communicate strategic and technical decisions to diverse stakeholders.
  • Actively participate in feedback exchanges to ensure the creation of exceptional products.

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of professional experience shipping products with stringent runtime performance constraints.
  • Proven experience in shader languages (GLSL, Metal), with a strong emphasis on creating shaders from scratch.
  • Experience in real-time content authoring (VFX, animation, lighting).
  • Proficiency in creative coding frameworks such as openFrameworks, Processing, Cinder, or Three.js.
  • Programming experience with JavaScript, Java, C++, or C#.
  • Collaborative experience in cross-functional and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Solid understanding of computer graphics fundamentals.
  • A portfolio showcasing technical skills and exceptional craft.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience developing shaders for mobile creative tools.
  • Product design background for mobile/creative tools.
  • Experience with graphics engineering or advanced knowledge of computer graphics fundamentals.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong visual, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong collaboration skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional visual and technical craft.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
  • CS, Media Arts, or Digital Media background is a plus.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $59.01 to $65.57 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
