Join a pioneering technology company at the forefront of innovation, dedicated to creating exceptional experiences that empower its global workforce. This organization is committed to leveraging cutting-edge AI to build intuitive, impactful internal tools that redefine how employees work and collaborate.

Are you a visionary Product Design Engineer who thrives at the intersection of design and deep technical execution? We are seeking a dynamic individual to shape the future of employee experience through AI-powered solutions. This isn’t just a design role; it’s an opportunity to build what you envision, working hand-in-hand with AI engineers to craft groundbreaking tools. You will be instrumental in designing for the unique challenges of AI interaction – uncertainty, latency, and dynamic outputs – moving beyond traditional screens to create truly intelligent and collaborative systems. Your contributions will directly enhance the daily lives of employees and managers, setting new standards for internal product design and user trust.

What You’ll Do

  • Define the design language for AI-native internal tools, extending existing design systems and establishing new patterns, components, and principles tailored to employee experience needs.
  • Design, prototype, and productize AI-powered experiences across key internal services, including gathering, onboarding, performance management, and workforce planning.
  • Develop agentic and AI-native interfaces, encompassing multi-step task flows, proactive systems, and experiences where users collaborate with AI across various input types (text, voice, ambient).
  • Apply a deep understanding of how large language model (LLM) systems behave, including orchestration patterns and model handoff, to design meaningful user control in dynamic AI environments.
  • Collaborate closely with AI engineers and product managers, bridging design intent with technical execution throughout the entire build cycle for internal production platforms.
  • Conduct lightweight usability testing with internal employees and managers to validate and refine design decisions rapidly.
  • Contribute to the internal AI knowledge base by ensuring tool documentation and user-facing content is clear, well-organized, and visually consistent.

Must have qualifications:

  • Experience in UX/UI, product design, design engineering, or a hybrid design/frontend role, with a strong portfolio showcasing web application work.
  • Expertise with Figma, including designing, modifying, and maintaining component specifications and design systems.
  • Strong proficiency in React and working knowledge of HTML and CSS, demonstrating comfort in contributing directly to a codebase, managing pull requests, and collaborating as a technical peer with engineers.
  • Proven experience designing AI-native or conversational interfaces, coupled with a solid understanding of the unique design challenges presented by LLM-powered products (e.g., streaming responses, ambiguous outputs, multi-turn flows, building user trust).
  • Strong instincts in information architecture and emerging AI interaction patterns, informed by hands-on experience with leading AI tools or similar platforms.
  • Experience designing high-quality, consumer-grade products for non-technical end-users within an enterprise or internal tools context.
  • Comfort with rapid iteration and ambiguity, adapting designs as tools and user needs evolve.
  • Ability to align working hours to overlap significantly with US Pacific Time business hours.
  • A portfolio demonstrating a mix of design work and the underlying code or prototypes is required.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in designing a formal design system from the ground up, beyond just consuming or contributing to existing ones.
  • Experience with HR technology, people operations tools, or workplace experience products.
  • Experience working within or closely alongside a platform engineering team.
