Location: Remote (must be based in the UK) 

Duration: Until end of December 2026 (potential to extend up to 3 years) 

Pay rate: £600 – £850 per day, LTD

Your leadership will empower engineering teams, streamline complex implementations, and elevate technical standards across the organization, directly impacting the success of global initiatives and the experience of countless users.
 

Responsibilities:

• Lead architectural strategy for a complex enterprise platform across frontend, backend, data, and AI.
• Define, document, and align platform architecture and technical standards with engineering leads.
• Evaluate and guide tradeoffs across scalability, performance, security, cost, and delivery velocity.
• Drive AI architecture and delivery (personalization, semantic search, vector embeddings, agentic workflows) with embedded responsible AI principles.
• Provide hands-on architectural leadership during critical delivery phases, design reviews, and complex implementations.
• Mentor teams, unblock technical challenges, and de-risk delivery.
• Ensure operational excellence, including release readiness, performance tuning, stability, and maintainability.
• Raise development standards, documentation quality, and overall technical hygiene.
• Collaborate with Product, UX, Data, and Marketing to translate strategy into execution.
• Act as a technical bridge between stakeholders and delivery teams, contributing to workshops, planning, and roadmaps.
• Provide consistent leadership across long-running initiatives, primarily within European business hours, supporting global (EU/US) teams.

Requirements:

• Senior technologist with strong architectural instincts and a clear bias toward delivery.
• Deep experience with modern platform architecture, including AI-enabled systems and enterprise integration patterns.
• Proven ability to assess architectural tradeoffs and guide teams through complex technical decisions.
• Hands-on experience delivering AI-driven features (personalization, semantic search, vector embeddings, agentic workflows).
• Commitment to embedding responsible AI principles into system design.
• Experience ensuring release readiness, performance optimization, and operational stability.
• Strong cross-functional and stakeholder collaboration skills across distributed, global teams.
