This is a 12-months contract, offering £34.13 per hour – 40 hrs/week – (PAYE). This role is open for a limited time. Next steps will be shared with shortlisted candidates by Monday 16th Feb at 10AM. Due to the high volume of applicants, we may be unable to reply to each applicant individually.
**About the Role: Driving Global Conversations**
In this critical role, you will be at the heart of the company’s external communications strategy, managing both proactive storytelling and swift, strategic responses to media inquiries. You’ll be instrumental in protecting and enhancing the company’s reputation, working across a complex ecosystem of internal stakeholders and external partners. Your work will directly influence how the world understands the innovations and impact of a company that is constantly pushing the boundaries of technology and human connection.
**Your Impact Will Include:**
* Leading critical communications initiatives, managing both proactive storytelling and swift, strategic responses to media inquiries.
* Crafting compelling narratives through statements, thought leadership pieces, social media content, and digital newsroom updates.
* Collaborating seamlessly with internal and external partners, including global communications teams and cross-functional experts, to ensure timely and effective responses to high-priority media engagements.
* Cultivating and nurturing strong relationships with top-tier media outlets.
* Partnering with agency teams to amplify key announcements and initiatives, leveraging earned media and dynamic social content to reach target audiences.
* Contributing to and supporting impactful proactive communications campaigns.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Manage and operate a fast-paced, high-volume press office, handling both reactive and proactive media engagements.
* Draft and refine a variety of communication materials, including press statements, opinion pieces, social media posts, and newsroom content.
* Coordinate and collaborate with global communications colleagues and various internal departments to ensure a unified and timely response to media inquiries.
* Develop, maintain, and strengthen relationships with key journalists and media contacts.
* Work closely with external agency partners to execute proactive communication strategies and campaigns.
* Provide communications support for strategic campaigns and initiatives as needed.
**Qualifications:**
* Proven experience in a fast-paced press office or media relations environment, demonstrating strong reactive and proactive communication skills.
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of drafting high-quality statements, op-eds, social content, and newsroom posts.
* Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with top-tier media.
* Experience collaborating effectively with diverse internal teams and external agency partners.
* A strategic mindset with the ability to contribute to and support large-scale communications campaigns.
* Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
