We are seeking an experienced freelance Digital Lead to provide strategic and hands-on digital communications support across a portfolio of high-profile organisational priorities. – 3 DAYS PER WEEK

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering high-quality digital content, channel strategies, and publishing workflows that drive engagement and amplify key communications objectives.

Ideally you will have experience working within the health sector, science, or with charities 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute digital strategies to support strategic articulation initiatives, global policy moments, and Executive Committee thought leadership programmes.
  • Lead digital planning, content delivery, and publishing activities for the organisation’s 90th Anniversary campaign, including film asset management, channel planning, uploads, and distribution.
  • Manage and maintain website content through the organisation’s CMS, ensuring information is accurate, up to date, and aligned with organisational messaging and brand standards.
  • Create and deliver compelling digital storytelling across priority areas including data and AI, equity, science policy labs, and investment communications.
  • Coordinate content production and publishing across web, social media, and multimedia channels to ensure consistent, high-quality execution.
  • Establish and optimise publishing workflows, ensuring efficient content delivery and strong governance across digital platforms.
  • Collaborate with communications, policy, and leadership teams to translate complex topics into engaging digital content and campaigns.

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience leading digital communications, content strategy, and multi-channel publishing for large organisations or high-profile campaigns.
  • Strong understanding of digital content planning, audience engagement, and channel management across web, social, video, and multimedia platforms.
  • Experience managing website content using content management systems (CMS).
  • Excellent editorial, storytelling, and project management skills.
  • Ability to translate complex policy, research, and organisational topics into accessible and engaging digital content.
  • Experience working across executive communications, thought leadership, and stakeholder engagement programmes is highly desirable.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
